An Education poster targets the students and teachers. Education posters contain information about educational activities and organizations. Training posters are used to promote and explain research work. Education posters are shown during conferences, to support a talk or scientific paper, or as a publication. Education prints are of importance as they can be a good introduction to a new piece of research before the paper is published. To print education information in posters can be done to advertise products related to educational needs also.

The training to print posters is also given in the classroom by teachers. The training prints can be made into a poster with the help of digital software, now available in basic computers also. Teachers are also asked to make posters for training. These include language vocabulary charts, numbers, colors, weather, and multiplication tables. Teaching poster making is not very difficult. The teachers prepare basic hand made models, unlike the professional digital posters, for elementary schools. Digital printing is used these days for poster making. Certain institutes, especially at the post graduate level, are now teaching poster making as a part of the curriculum.

Posters in the classroom can be motivational posters which are similar to those found in offices and sports room. They can be specific to the class subject matter also. In the higher secondary and secondary schools teaching prints include vocabulary charts, periodic table and related graphs. A world map poster is an example of a teaching print. Advertising posters are made for products discussed in the class, for example movie posters in a film class. Works of art and painting are discussed with the help of illustrated posters, as they give details of the original painting. Motivational posters are used in the sports room and gym to encourage student participation and inspire them.

These posters also convey problems of bad habits like dugs, abusing etc. Workshops are held for teachers where educational posters are used to convey new methods of teaching or discussion of issues.

Educational posters are usually are both commercial and non commercial. If they are used to discuss problems or related to their study matter they are non-commercial. But if the issue of drug abuse is being discussed and the concerned organization is publicizing themselves for therapy that is commercial. A seminar in school, about various colleges and their publicity is a commercial poster. An educational poster should be made according the target audience. The elementary school students would be more fascinated by use of hand made posters. The higher classes would prefer the use of technology in the posters. Mostly the commercial posters are made through digital printing.

The educational posters in class bring out the creativity in the students, and helps group co-ordination. Activities done together in school are always fun. With the help of posters the teaching method is also more fun yet educational. The aim of using posters in school is to create awareness amongst the students. The poster should be informative but not misleading.
